What Happens When You Give Your Team an Entire Hotel

Something happens when you remove the other guests from a hotel. Something that is hard to explain but easy to feel.

People drop their shoulders. They talk louder in the hallway. They sit in the lobby in their socks. Breakfast becomes a meeting, because everyone is there anyway. The bar in the evening becomes an extension of dinner, because nobody needs to be considerate of strangers. The garden becomes a workspace, because nobody looks twice.

Exclusive use is not just a question of privacy. It is a question of dynamics.

How it feels

At a normal hotel, you are guests. At a hotel you have to yourselves, you are home. That sounds like a small difference. It is not.

When your team arrives at Allinge Badehotel in the off-season, there is nobody else. Twenty-four rooms in a building from 1774. The dining room configured for your sessions. The bicycles ready. The kitchen cooking for you and only you.

The first evening, the dynamic shifts. You can feel it. The conversation at the dinner table is different when everyone knows there is no one else listening. People are more open. More honest. More present.

What it does to the work

Breakfast begins as an informal meeting, because everyone shows up in the same dining room within half an hour. Nobody planned it. It just happens. And the conversations that start over coffee and eggs from local farms continue in a way they never would if half the team were in an anonymous hotel buffet with three other companies.

In the afternoon, someone sits in the garden with a laptop. Someone walks the coast. Someone borrows a bicycle. None of them have gone home. None of them are in another meeting. They are all here, and that fact does more for team dynamics than any teambuilding exercise.

24 rooms, 250 years, the Baltic Sea

Allinge Badehotel is not a large hotel. It is a small hotel with generous rooms, original timber framing, a garden that slopes toward the sea, and a breakfast that makes guests write reviews.

In the off-season, from October through March, the entire hotel is available for exclusive use. We work with your team on catering, activities, and room setup. And then we step back, because the best thing we can do is give you the frame and let you fill it.

Book now or write to us. Tell us how many you are and what you need. We will put together a proposal.
